Before you book
Who can join an Impact Explorers programme?
Most programmes are open to anyone 18+. Medical internships through Med Trips require you to be enrolled in a relevant healthcare programme (medicine, nursing, dental, allied health, pre-med). Younger travellers can join through a faculty-led group with appropriate supervision.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 2–4 months in advance. Some destinations (particularly in summer) book up earlier. Faculty-led groups should plan 6+ months ahead.
What is the difference between Volunteering Solutions and Med Trips?
Volunteering Solutions delivers Volunteer Abroad programmes in childcare, conservation, teaching and community development across 30+ countries. Med Trips delivers Medical Internships Abroad — supervised clinical placements for healthcare students. Both are operated by Impact Explorers Ltd and share the same B Corp standards.
Costs and payments
What is included in the programme fee?
Most programmes include: accommodation, meals (typically breakfast and dinner), airport pickup, in-country orientation, programme placement, 24/7 in-country support, and a certificate of completion. Specific inclusions are detailed in your proposal.
What is NOT included?
International flights, travel and medical insurance, visa fees, vaccinations, personal spending, weekend excursions (unless specified), and any costs related to early arrival or late departure.
Safety and support
Is it safe?
Safety is our highest priority. We run detailed pre-departure briefings, provide 24/7 in-country support teams, conduct accommodation safety audits and maintain insurance and emergency protocols. What if I get sick or have an emergency?
Every participant is assigned a local in-country coordinator with 24/7 emergency contact. We maintain protocols with local hospitals and clinics, and your travel insurance should cover medical emergencies and evacuation.
Do I need vaccinations?
Vaccinations vary by destination. We provide destination-specific health guidance during pre-departure preparation. Always consult a travel-medicine clinic.

How big can my group be?
We run faculty-led groups of 8 to 40+ students. Larger groups can be split across multiple programmes. Plan a faculty trip →
Does the faculty leader travel free?
Yes, on qualifying group sizes (typically 10+ students). Specific terms are included in your custom proposal.
