What students take home, in measurable terms.
Every Educational Travel programme is built backwards from learning outcomes you define. These are the most common categories — yours will be customised in the brief.
Clinical & technical skills
For medical, nursing, dental and allied-health students: documented clinical hours, exposure to local healthcare systems, supervised case shadowing, and rotation logs aligned to your faculty’s requirements.
Cross-cultural competence
Structured pre-departure briefings, host-family stays, language essentials, and reflection sessions that turn travel into measurable intercultural learning — not just tourism.
Sustainable development literacy
Programmes mapped to UN Sustainable Development Goals, with fieldwork that demonstrates community-led development in practice. Students leave able to critique, not just celebrate, international development.
Research & field methods
Available for ethnography, conservation biology, public health, and education research streams. Ethical clearance protocols followed; faculty supervises study design with our in-country leads.
Career portfolio & references
Every traveller receives a structured certificate of completion, hours log (where applicable), and references from in-country supervisors — written specifically for medical school, residency or postgraduate applications.
Personal development
Resilience, adaptability and self-awareness — measured pre- and post-trip via the validated Cross-Cultural Adaptability Inventory (CCAI), with anonymised aggregate reports available to faculty.
How three universities ran very different journeys with us.
Composite case studies based on real programmes. Names and specifics adjusted; outcomes representative of typical cohorts.
A 4-week clinical elective in Athens.
16 final-year medical students completed a supervised rotation across emergency medicine, internal medicine and paediatrics at a teaching hospital in Athens. Each student logged 140+ clinical hours toward their elective requirement, with daily case reviews and a closing presentation to the host consultants.
Programme paired with structured Greek healthcare-system seminars, a hospital ethics workshop, and weekend cultural immersion across Attica.
Marine conservation field study, Sri Lanka.
A 12-strong undergraduate cohort spent three weeks on the southern coast of Sri Lanka working with a marine biology partner organisation. Students contributed to active reef-monitoring datasets, completed a sea-turtle nesting census, and produced a final group report submitted as 30% of their semester grade.
Pre-departure: 8 hours of online preparation covering local ecology, methods and ethics. Post-trip: structured reflection workshop with faculty.
Community health placements in rural India.
A 9-student MSc cohort co-designed a 4-week community health programme across two districts in rural Rajasthan, working with our long-term local partner NGO on maternal-health outreach, hygiene education, and qualitative data collection for their dissertations.
Faculty travelled with the group and led weekly seminar sessions in-country, with full ethical-review board sign-off coordinated by us pre-departure.
Standard vs. custom programmes.
A clear-eyed comparison of what comes with a standard programme versus a custom-built faculty-led trip. Most universities choose custom for first-time partnerships.
